Bento with bonus dinner! (No.33)

I had a little request from the Bf the other day. I wasn’t going to be home for dinner, but he said he really wanted to have some of my lovely home-cooked food that night for his dinner. As he was so nice about it, and because I had leftovers from the night before, he got a bonus dinner with his lunch bento!!

Firstly, in his lunchtime bento, he had one round of cheese, tomato chutney and salad sandwiches (on mixed grain bread), half a round of marmite sandwiches, a silicon cup of cherry tomatoes and smoked cheese, carrot sticks and mange tout.

To accompany that, he also had: Christmas tree pretzels (I know it’s February!), a protein ball (recipe to follow), a peanut butter shortbread cookie under the protein ball (again, recipe to follow), grapes, satsuma and a pot of mixed nuts and raisins.

To extend the spoiling, the bf had the above for dinner: ramen noodles with stir fry. The stir fry had carrots, sweet potato, courgette, onion and bacon in, and the sauce for it was made with soy sauce, rice vinegar and sesame seeds 🙂 There was also fresh fruit for his pudding 🙂 so healthy I know!

I’m starting to plan my first charaben (kyaraben), but I have no clue what to do for it! Any ideas anyone?

The things I do for love…

I did say I still had things to tell you about the Holiday season! Below is a picture of the presents all of my friends received for Christmas. I’m glad I managed to make nearly all of the Christmas gifts I gave, and I am particularly pleased that these ones tasted so good!

In the red basket/box things are 2 cupcakes:

– one chocolate peppermint (with a red candy button on top);

– one cranberry, apple and walnut (so amazingly tasty! and they used more of the turkish apple tea powder I have),

and 2 cookie sandwiches:

– one plain shortbread sandwiched around apple flavoured butter icing (turkish apple tea powder again);

– one plain shortbread sandwiched around chocolate butter icing.

All my friends loved them all! And so did I!

What edible treats have you made recently?

Cookies!

More baking! As well as the cakes I made at the weekend, I made cookies!

IMG00130

I made two flavours 🙂 both of which I will be making a lot more of over the coming christmas period 🙂 I made apple shortbread and chocolate peppermint shortbread.

Recipe:

– Basic shortbread (family recipe – no can tell!) – any cookie mix or shortbread mix will work (my shortbread had no eggs)

– Add peppermint hot chocolate to the choccy peppermint ones

– Add apple flavouring to the apple shortbread ones 🙂 (I used apple powdered tea that I got from turkey  aaaages ago)

I know I said I’d post a recipe that I can tell you, well, shortbread is so simple, this counts!!

Feeling hungry now? 😉

No-Bake Cookie Dough

Another one to cross off my Food Bucket List!!

I made No-Bake Cookie Dough the other day and it is DEVINE!

I’m not sure whether I will ever eat baked cookies again.

The recipe is basically a shortbread or sugar cookie recipe:

Which I’m not going to share with you 🙂 (family secret ;))

Add anything you want, like sprinkles, chocolate chips, raw cacao nibs or just eat on its own. It is amazing mixed with yoghurt!!

Sorry it’s a rubbish picture, It was so yummy!!

I baked some too:

Cookie cups!! Yummy!

The un-bkaed cookie dough was still superior 😀

Have you made raw edible cookie dough? And did you love it!!???
